Sunday, February 12, 2017 will go down in WWE history as one of the longest overdue title changes in history. Watching WWE Superstar Naomi throughout the years was like watching Hall of Famer, Lita, but one thing was missing, the Womens Championship. Over 8 years we have seen the continued, “on the shelf” placement of Naomi’s career as first and second generation women wrestlers were handed the title numerous times before Naomi’s run. The WWE Universe and ourselves could not take it anymore. The WWE Universe rallied together and female Superstars showed their support as Naomi’s talent could no longer be overlooked. After 8 years of hard work and dedication, Naomi finally became the WWE SmackDown Live Womens Champion. “You Deserve it” chants filled the Phoenix stadium as Naomi held up her title for the first time as she began to cry to the sounds of the chants. The title change feels right. Naomi is one of the most athletic Women’s Superstars on the current WWE roster. The timing couldn’t be better, as Naomi’s new signature ring gear glows as she dances her way to the ring. WrestleMania 33 will be held in Naomi’s hometown of Orlando, Florida April 2nd, 2017. No more funkadactyls, Team BAD and no more gimmicks, Naomi made it by being herself and incorporating what she loves into the ring. Its better that way and we couldn’t be more proud of her moment!
